Entering Blackrock Clinic by Car

If travelling to the Clinic from the city direction right turns are permitted, except between the hours of 4pm and 7pm, when access to the clinic is only permitted from the other direction.

If travelling to the clinic during the hours of 4pm – 7pm and approaching the clinic from the city direction, use the N11 otherwise known as the Stillorgan dual carriage way. Turn left into Mount Merrion Ave bringing you back to Rock Road, where you can access the clinic.

If travelling to the clinic from the Blackrock direction towards the city, you may experience some traffic delays as all traffic is down to one lane.

If travelling to the clinic from the M-50, take the Sandyford exit at junction 14 and drive towards the N-11 otherwise known as the Stillorgan dual carriage way. Turn left onto the Stillorgan dual carriage way and take a right turn down Mount Merrion Ave, take a left turn at the bottom of Mount Merrion Ave bringing you on to Rock Road, where you can access the clinic from this direction.

Tip – Leave plenty of time for your journey if travelling by car or taxi

Alternative Modes of Transport

Bus

If you plan to take the bus, the following bus routes will take you to the nearest bus stop outside the clinic.

  • Number 5 – From City Centre, O’Connell St. From Sandyford Industrial Estate.
  • Number 7 – From City Centre, O’ Connell St. From Loughlinstown Park, Cherrywood.
  • Number 7a – From City Centre, O’Connell St. From Mackinstosh Park.
  • Number 8 – From City Centre, Parnell Square. From Dalkey, Ulverton Road.

Dart / Train

The nearest Dart / Train station to the clinic is Blackrock. From the station, Blackrock Clinic is a short walk (approx 10 min) through Blackrock village, turning right onto Rock Road toward the City Centre. We are located on the left, just past Blackrock Park.

Darts begin from approximately 6.00hrs and finish at approximately 23.20hrs. Some Intercity and Communter trains also stop at Blackrock Station. For information on DART, Commuter and Intercity trains please contact Iarnrod Eireann on 01-8366222 or visit their website http://www.irishrail.ie

Bike

If you plan to cycle, there is a bicycle rack where your bike can be stored in the muti story car park.

Car Parking

Blackrock Clinic provides concessions for patients and their visitors who attend the hospital regularly or over a prolonged period.

A daily pass is available at €12.00 per day, and a weekly pass at €30.00 per week. Oncology patients, who visit numerous times for treatment can use a special oncology pass which is €4.00 per day. Parking for drivers with a disability is available at no charge and is located directly outside the hospital building.

The first 15 minutes of parking at the hospital are free. After that a charge of €2.40 per hour applies.

Information on parking concessions is provided to all patients in their welcome pack and the hourly charge for parking is clearly marked at the carpark entrance and all pay stations.

Currently there is 520 visitor car-parking spaces both outside the clinic and in the recently built, 9 level multi-storey car park.

Other useful Tips

Allow plenty of time for your journey
When making your appointment talk to the person who is making your booking and ask them to suggest to you a time when the department may have a quieter period than usual if apporpriate
Think of leaving the car behind and using alternative methods of transport
